Al and I attempted (and failed) to go to the cinema the other day (turns out Skyfall is still very popular!) but we did stop and have a look at an abandoned Nightclub. There is something very eerie about somewhere that used to have so much dancing and merriment become so empty.
Goodbye Central Park
We have just done our last walk around Central Park in the sunshine. It is so beautiful and I wonder if such a great setting inspires people to walk and exercise more. Seeing couples on the lake is lovely and funny to see so many people in one place taking photographs. It would be incredible to see a montage of them all!
Cloud City
Beautifully disorientating was the sculpture by Tomas Saraceno, located in the roof garden of the Met museum. You booked timed tickets and you could then walk up and around it. There were perspex floors that flexed under foot and mirrors and gaps everywhere. You were not allowed to take photos as people had got distracted.
High line
One of the walks we did today (and my feet can confirm we did a lot of walking) was along the Sky Line. It is an old abandoned railway line that has been renovated into a lovely, leafy walk with art sights along the way. I looked down and took a photo of this street scene, which is my photo, for today.

I’m in New York!
I can’t quite believe I’m here, staying in a wonderful apartment! I have decided to share a photo a day, but I shall start by breaking my own rules and showing you two. The orange seats on the subway made me smile and they were contrasted with this dark, gloss wood. We were on it for moments. I looked up once to see a man sleeping and looked up seconds later and the man had changed into a different man sleeping.
Beautiful Botanical gardens
I went to the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham today and got to see loads of beautiful butterflies. They never disappoint! They were all quite still when we first entered and when the sun came out they fluttered about and landed on us and the pathway (which was slightly worrying).
Colourful snow – Day 2
The snow is melting very slowly and it looks as though a neighbour cat has been exploring too! I took the photos in the dark with a flash and they are super sparkly as a result!
This is what it looks like as a whole; I love the little paw prints.
